May 2021 Newsletter

Dear Delt Brothers,

I write to encourage you to attend the Delt Big Bash weekend planned for June 3rd to 6th 2021 at Camp Rotary in Crawfordsville. I had not been back to Campus in many years until Squatfest 2018 for the Monon Bell weekend. I had such a great time catching up with pledge brothers and meeting Delts I did not know. I could not wait for Big Bash 2019 and my class reunion. The most enjoyable time at my class reunion was sitting on the front porch of the Delt House talking to Delts of all classes. When I heard of the plans for the Fall Festival in 2020 I immediately signed up. I was not disappointed . Delts do know how to have a good time.

When asked to serve on the committee to plan the Delt Big Bash weekend 2021 . I did not hesitate. I knew this would be another opportunity for us to get together and celebrate our bond as Delts. Don't miss this chance to renew your connection to a group of very special men who lived the 603 WW experience. I hope to see you soon. SIGN UP BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE !!!!!

603 WW, Inc., Is Accepting Applications for the Brooks/Seymour Award for Humane Service & Leadership

603 WW, Inc., has established the Brooks/Seymour Award to recognize those Alumni who have made outstanding contributions to the 603 community through "humane service and leadership." The award is named in honor of Dr. Austin Brooks, Professor Emeritus, whose lifelong service and humane example have served many generations of 603 Alumni, and Dr. Thaddeus Seymour, former President of Wabash College, whose good humor, character, and service to his community were the earmarks of a long and storied career.

All nominations should provide a detailed narrative, with appropriate supporting material explaining the manner in which the nominee fulfills the three main Brooks/Seymour Award Criteria. All nominations should set forth the Nominee's record of service (especially to the 603 community); the Nominee's leadership (through effective example); and the Nominee's humanity (demonstrating excellence in pursuit of fairness, justice and respect for mankind).

Each nomination will be vetted for accuracy and documentation by a subset of the Board of Directors, and the award recommendation will be presented to the Board of Directors for approval.

Please submit your nominations to Roger Wilson, Committee Chairman at rwilson3@comcast.net for distribution to the committee.Monon Bell is just around the corner!

Graduate School Assistance Program Update

Good News! Because of the generosity of Wabash Delt alumni, we have now surpassed the $22,000 mark in raising funds for the Grad School Assistance Program. Funds are still being received and pledges are being fulfilled. We are hoping to see the fund exceed $25,000 by the end of May 2021.

The annual expenditures for this program are projected to be $8,000 per year. The long-term objective of 603 WW Inc. is to grow this fund until it is self-sustaining.

Donations are being accepted and checks should be made payable to 603 WW Inc. and sent to:

Dan Koeppel’75, Treasurer
207 Edgehill Road
Jacksonville, Illinois 62650

Payments may also be made through Google and PayPal using 603.WW.inc@gmail.com as the submission email.
